Narrative Budget 2012 – A Shared Vision

Attached is an exciting description of our shared ministries and it’s impact. Before you look at this narrative budget it will be helpful for you to watch this video.  It helps us understand our actual impact and true potential.

Now I invite you to prayerfully read and engage with us around the following questions:

1.  How is this form of budget presentation helpful in explaining what we do together through our centrally administered budget?
2.  Do the proposed percentages in each of the ministry areas – missions, discipleship and connecting reflect our priorities and values?
3.  What portions of our overall ministry income should we administer locally, regionally and centrally?

The General Council is meeting on Nov. 17,18 to discuss the proposed budget.

Will your church catch the vision of what we can accomplish together and indicate this as they plan their budgets for the coming year?

A summary of the line item budget is provided in this document.  A detailed line item budget is available through your General Council representatives.

Praise! – Gospel Mission Church, Winkler – new associate pastor
Jacob Friesen, Executive Director and Len Hjalmarson, Lead Pastor at Aylmer EMMC had the opportunity to participate in the commissioning time on October 23 for new associate pastor Claude and Yvonne Dugas. The fellowship supper followed by a wonderful time of praise was a beautiful celebration of God’s faithfulness and thanks-giving.

Praise God! – Young people in our congregations
Our congregations are blessed to have young people who are firm in their faith and are willing to stretch and go beyond what is comfortable for them. Many are involved in ministries in their home communities and others have gone beyond their home territory and ventured to other countries. Praise God for their passion and desire to share their faith. Pray for these individuals that God will use them in powerful ways, wherever they are. As home congregations, we have the opportunity to be their best supporters and encouragers!

Around the World
As Turkey seeks to recover from a devastating earthquake this past week, let us pray for the recovery / rebuilding and for those who have lost loved ones.  May this remind us also to pray for the very small Christian church in Turkey (less than .2% Christian).  They have asked us to pray as follows: Pray the Lord will display His love and mercy to the people of Turkey by pouring out His Holy Spirit upon our land, revealing His glory through healings, signs and wonders.  Pray the Lord breaks down the lies and the endless disinformation about Christ, the Bible and Christians that has blinded and hardened hearts in our land. Pray that God redeems the negative memories of history.

Prayer Request for Bolivia Ministry Events

Fellow Servants,

Greetings from Bolivia! We want to let you know that we’re planning a series of evangelistic events here and we would ask that you put us on your prayer list for the month of November. John and Helen Froese (EMC Evangelist) are comming to Bolivia from Saskatchewan for most of the month, and we’re exited about the things that have been planned.

  • A 2 day men’s retreat planned for November 4 and 5 in the Villa Nueva Church. Other churches and groups have been invited and we anticipate a good turnout. we pray that this will serve to unite us and to call us as men to task on how we lead our families.
  • A 3 day Evangelistic campaign at Radio Trans Mundial, Pailon for the 11 – 13th. I just received confirmation that a singing group from the Chaco Paraguay will be joining us to bring the music for this event. PTL. We are exited about this weekend and feel confident that many people will come. Pray that the seed will fall on good ground.
  • Ministry in the new outreach area of San Jose. The Froese’s will spend some time there with our new missionary couple Bill and Martha Kehler. We pray for open doors, that God will show us those that are searching and that they will be willing to step out into a relationship Him.
Thank you for partnering with us!
