Core Values

Our core values document is an outstanding document in my view. Was it ever approved formally among our wider Conference? In particular, was there ever much discussion around 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 ? By the way the discussion document wrongly references the passage as chapter 2
I am wondering who the author of this Core Value Statment is or from where was this statment borrowed or used. Does anyone know. Just curious.
Mel – It believe it was drafted by one of our former staff with input and feedback from past and present leaders within our EMMC & EMC family of churches.
Len – it was intended to be used in helping people understand the rationale and background for the core values. I believe a summary of this version was presented & discussed at the Alonta Gathering in 2009.
A diagram or two would be helpful. Core values are listed as discipleship/community/reconciliation. Discipleship is an overarching category – the frame for community and mission/peace-making. We follow Jesus by a life together in worship, study, prayer and outward in mission. Showing that rhythm of community and mission might be helpful for some.
