Walking and leaping and praising God!

Chris and Elaine Hurst are EMMC associate missionaries working out of Abbotsford BC with Wycliffe Bible Translators. August 28 was an eventful day for the Hurst family. Chris and son Daniel were working on car maintenance when the jack fell and the car fell on top of Chris pinning him underneath. He sustained four broken ribs on each side, two small punctures in his lungs and a broken collar bone.

The following is information received in an email on Oct 25/10

Dear folks,
Well, the leaping is still a little restrained, but I really am praising God for my recovery. It may sound trite to say “thanks for praying for me”, but I’ve truly been humbled to hear of so many interceding on my behalf.  As the song goes, “Every breath I take I breathe in You”*.
Just in the last week or so I’ve really started to have energy again. The surgeon who fixed my collar bone says I can lift 20 lbs now (boy, I could hardly do that before the accident!) My GP didn’t want to see me after the last set of x-rays and blood tests since everything was looking good. So now I’m gradually getting back to work, though taking a few extra naps still.
The process of consultant checking Matthew is up and running again with chapters 19 and 20 moving ahead.  I’m also doing a review of Ephesians and enjoying chapter 4.
Gratefully,
Chris for Elaine too
