Our Vision & Opportunities
In 1969 the EMMC leadership made a decision to move ahead with an overseas initiative in Bolivia. The work which was originally intended specifically for the Low German speaking migrants, soon expanded to Bolivian nationals. Following the initial pioneering work, strong effort was placed on local leadership development in the national Anabaptist church. Today we celebrate not only a sister conference of LIEAB churches but also several other ministries.
In the coming months we will engage you in exploring how we might participate in church planting ventures with some of these brothers and sisters.
LIEAB (La Iglesia Evangelica Anabautista en Bolivia)
A group of churches in Bolivia. This outreach to Spanish speaking people was started by the Evangelical Mennonite Mission Conference in the 1970s. There has been intentional discipleship of this group of believers and they are now under national pastoral leadership.
SETA (Seminario por Extension Teologico a las Americas) is an Advanced Biblical and Theological Training School used extensively to train pastors and leaders in Bolivian churches. With over 200 students currently enrolled, this project helps to make this powerful theological training tool accessible to leaders in both remote and urban settings.
RIIMA (Red de Iglesias Internacionales Misioneras Anabautistas) is a missional house church movement that has begun in Santa Cruz.
